ohhh wait he remembers now. that weird kid who wanted to recruit him to resurrect people for their war or whatever. this must be the dude Sai said would actually know some things]
Alright well he asked me if I would be willing to provide resurrection as a service during your world's impending war, so I wanted to know what your afterlife is like. He told me I should ask you about that.
[ A resurrection service would be GREAT, don't get him wrong - immediately thoughts flood his head of all those he's lost returning to him, returning to those he cares about - but he's still tentative. What would he know about the afterlife that Sai doesn't? ] it's not like i've been there or anythin but everyone knows that once you die you get to see the people youve lost again so its gotta be somethin
but yknow there is somethin i never got my dad came back and so did my mom! even if only for a little bit and she helped me trap kyuubey and dad touched my shoulder and mom hugged me so theres gotta be somethin else right somethin between whatever happens at the end and here where you can wait incase youve got stuff youve gotta do i just dont know what noone has ever come back for real
yeah but he wasnt- i mean he hadnt been gone long and i never believed he was really gone at all even though everyone said so
plus if youre after gettin some info about what he saw then dont bother gettin hopeful hes not really a talky kinda guy and i dont think hed wanna talk about it even if id asked
He wasn't gone long enough to move on from [purgatory? probably not a term Naruto would understand.] the space between life and the afterlife, you mean.
So basically no one actually knows what death is like and what sort of thing I'd be bringing people back from if I did agree to help with resurrections like Sai asked.
he was gone for a day or so and he was really gone but yeah we managed to get him back and now hes fine
i guess so but wouldnt everyone rather live than die?? especially the people who get killed for unfair reasons like my friend he was real glad to be back
Well yeah, don't get me wrong, I would like to come resurrect all your war casualties and miscellaneous dead. But I have to prioritize, you know? If I come resurrect people for y'all then I'm letting people back in my world stay dead in the meantime, and I know what the afterlife looks like there.
Also, your friend, I think he's looking at this strategically. But the thing is, I would absolutely not be willing to leave your enemies' casualties dead either.
i get it when i met my dad he could only see me for a few moments the same with my mom and though i wish i could see em again i dont think itd be right if they can go be happy together someplace good while theres other people struggling in crappy afterlifes yknow
and theres a couple of people that i guess youd call enemies but im pretty sure dyin gave them a kinda release that real life held em back from
[ He's not good at these philosophical retrospectives, but he's trying. Nagato had been in such pain and had been so twisted and warped by the real world... Naruto is sure that in death he's finally at peace. ]
So bad I don't think being there with your loved ones would make it any more tolerable, or that going there after death could bring someone any kind of peace.
I'm trying to fix it. I want to fix everyone's shitty afterlives, but my world's is my priority right now.

How much did he tell you?

just that you wanted to talk to me

cmon spit it out
[ He's not being so short on purpose - honestly, he's probably not even aware he's being so standoffish - he's just kind of... naturally this rude. ]

Good luck with your war.
In the meantime though, if you need anyone resurrected in this universe, don't hesitate to call me.
